U.S.Patent No. 8,044,359
With ArcCHECK, see the entire picture
ArcCHECK is the world‘s first true 4D detector array, cylindrical detector array, and electronic array designed
specifically for
rotational dosimetry.
Below is what a 2D array and ArcCHECK will see for the
same plan measurement. Unrolling ArcCHECK dose
makes it possible to see much more, highlighting areas
that would not normally be seen with a 2D array.
Key Benefits
- SunPoint™ Diode Detectors for accurate measurements
- Virtual Inclinometer™ for gantry angle QA [image]
- Internal Inclinometer for ease of setup [image]
- 3D and DVH Analysis
- Easy setup and lightweight (16kg)
- Measure both composite and per control point
- Real-time updates (50ms)

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What makes ArcCHECK unique?
A: ArcCHECK is the only 3D electronic dosimetry phantom designed specifically for Arc and Helical dosimetry and QA. Detector distribution, not phantom shape, is what indicates a true 3D design. A 2D array in a phantom housing is not a 3D distribution, nor is two intersecting 2D arrays. Only ArcCHECK breaks the 2D paradigm and offers a truly 3D approach.

Q: Is ArcCHECK the only electronic dosimetry system to offer cylindrical detector geometry?
A: Yes. ArcCHECK is the only device to employ cylindrical detector geometry. The benefit of this design is consistent data weighting and measurement regardless of gantry angle – in other words an isotropic design. Entrance and exit dose are measured with ArcCHECK and center dose may be measured with a separate detector inserted into the ArcCHECK.

Q: What is the measurement update frequency for ArcCHECK?
A: ArcCHECK samples dose every 50ms. Dose data may be saved for each sample update, allowing Dose to Time synchronization analysis.

Q: Does the real time fast update frequency of ArcCHECK make it a 4D device?
A: Yes. The fact that ArcCHECK data can be analyzed according to time, and therefore gantry angle, makes ArcCHECK a 4D device.

Q: What is the weight of the ArcCHECK?
A: The weight of the ArcCHECK is a very reasonable 16 kg. Other phantoms that are similar in size commonly weigh 27 kg. The lighter weight makes ArcCHECK easier to transport and setup.

Q: Is the ArcCHECK water equivalent?
A: The ArcCHECK phantom material is Acrylic, for near water equivalency.
goto top
Q: How will comparisons be performed in the ArcCHECK software?
A: Comparison will be performed using 3D DTA (percent difference and distance to agreement) as well as 3D gamma.

Q: Is ArcCHECK as easy to setup as other Sun Nuclear instruments?
A: Yes. In fact ArcCHECK uses the same single power/data cable and P/DI as other Sun Nuclear instruments. With only one cable, setup is easy, and if the user already uses Sun Nuclear instruments there will be no need to thread any further cables through the conduit.

Q: ArcCHECK has a hollow center. Can it measure central axis dose?
A: Yes. An option will enable users to insert a detector into the hollow center of the ArcCHECK to measure the central axis dose.
