Q: I have an rf-IVD™ but it looks different from
this model. Has the design changed?
A: Yes. The Model 1133 rf-IVD™ was manufactured by Sun Nuclear
from 2002 through September of 2005. The new Model 1136 rf-IVD 2 offers
several significant changes that include:
- Simplified design, fewer batteries and easier setup.
- Control Module is now standard.
- Four standard channels per detector pod instead of three.
- Compact and Robust LEMO connectors.
- Simplified temperature correction routine uses look-up table.
Q: I have BNC connectors, will they work with the
new rf-IVD 2?
A: Yes. Using SNC supplied adapters you can convert your BNC
connector to a LEMO connector. We will also retrofit any BNC connector to
LEMO if desired by the customer.
Q: Does the rf-IVD 2 have Windows software
available?
A: Yes. The Windows PC software is included with each system. The
PC software is required for measurements using more than four channels, i.e.
for TBI measurements. For measurement situations involving four or less
channels, a compact Control Module is included with each system that allows
the system to be calibrated and used without a PC.
Q: How do the batteries work (Can they be damaged)?
A: The rf-IVD 2 uses an advanced battery design that allows the
units to always remain ‘ON’. When not being used, the wireless detector pods
should be placed back in the wall-mounted charging bracket. This design,
combined with advanced batteries, ensures the rf-IVD2 will deliver years
of trouble free use.
Q: How does the rf-IVD™ compare to MOSFET systems?
A: Click here
for a comparison of DIODES to MOSFETs.
Q: Will the wireless frequency interfere with
electronic systems in the treatment room?
A: No. The rf-IVD was extensively tested and there is no danger
of interference. Both the FDA (Food & Drug Administration) and the FCC
(Federal Communications Commission) have approved the rf-IVD 2 for use in
treatment vaults.
Q: I plan to use my rf-IVD 2 for TBI. Is this
possible?
A: Yes, the rf-IVD 2 may be used for TBI via the included
Windows PC software. Up to 52 channels may be used at any one time.
Q: I have a wired diode device now. What benefits
do I get from the rf-IVD 2?
A: The rf-IVD 2 offers:
- Wireless communication – no cables for the patient to become entangled in.
- Automatic Temperature compensation.
- Simplified user interface (calibrate using Control Module).
