"I used (film) and MapCHECK system for the first two IMRT patients. After that we have done about 50 IMRT patients and all got verified by MapCHECK only. There is no comparison when it comes to time savings. I believe the accuracy is very good. In less than 20 minutes we are able to verify a 7 field plan, both for absolute dose and geometry. Depending upon the field size each beam is verified by couple of hundred detectors. It is almost like comparing TLD versus Diode measurements for In Vivo Dosimetry. You will be combining your present (film) plus Ion Chamber measurement into one MapCHECK measurement. I suggest you see one demo yourself to see the time savings and accuracy of MapCHECK."
