Introduction
![]() RapidArc™, TomoTherapy®, VMAT® and IMAT® all present a new rotational challenge for patient specific QA. Two dimensional QA arrays (MapCHECK) are widely accepted for measurements where the detector plane is normal to the beam, and are logical candidates for rotational delivery QA. To prove the MapCHECK’s suitability for composite rotational dosimetry, a scientific study was performed, as well as independent testing on rotationally enabled Linacs and TomoTherapy machines. Although no two dimensional array configuration is geometrically ideal for rotational dosimetry, the results of the study show that MapCHECK performs strongly and that angular dependencies are not a limiting factor. Importantly, the diode based MapCHECK performed as well if not better for rotational modalities compared to ionization chamber arrays. ArcCHECK™
ArcCHECK™: Sun Nuclear continues a rich history of innovation and superior
technological craftsmanship with the ArcCHECK. Rather than work
within existing IMRT QA conventions, ArcCHECK offers a completely
fresh approach to QA that can only be described as ground-breaking.
ArcCHECK provides what others cannot, a true four dimensional QA
device for next generation rotational modalities.
MapCHECK™
MapCHECK is the worldwide market share leader in film-less IMRT QA. This is due to our precision detectors (active area of 0.64mm2) which measure absolute pinpoint dose in steep gradients more accurately than ionization chambers. When Combined with the MapPHAN, MapCHECK becomes the preferred standard for Rotational Dosimetry. Packaged with software known for its ease of use, MapCHECK is the worldwide leader for IMRT QA.
MapPHAN™
MapPHAN is a homogenous water equivalent phantom that holds MapCHECK at isocenter for rotational (helical) dosimetry. Available at 5, 10, and 15cm depths, the MapPHAN supports both sagittal and coronal measurements. |
