Are Flattening Filter Free (FFF) beams supported by Sun Nuclear products?

Yes. Sun Nuclear tests all products on FFF beams using our Varian Linac, as well as at clinical sites with commercially available FFF beams. All commercially available and anticipated FFF beam delivery systems are supported for all SNC products, including Varian, Elekta, Siemens, Accuray, and Tomotherapy systems.

Beginning in 2012, all Sun Nuclear products offer full FFF beam measurement compliance. Please note:

• Although originally designed to support FFF beams before they were commercially available, certain MapCHECK 2 and ArcCHECK systems manufactured before 2012 require a hardware upgrade to be fully FFF compliant. MapCHECK 2 serial numbers before 77285001, and ArcCHECK serial numbers before 75406001 will require an upgrade.  To arrange for an upgrade, please contact your Regional Account Manager or local Sun Nuclear Distributor.
  
  
• SRS PROFILER was originally designed for CyberKnife (a FFF modality) and non-FFF conventional Linacs with SRS functionality. Certain SRS PROFILER systems manufactured before 2012 require a hardware upgrade to be fully compliant for conventional Linacs fitted with 10MV FFF. SRS PROFILER serial numbers before 77961001 will require an upgrade. To arrange for an upgrade, please contact your Regional Account Manager or local Sun Nuclear Distributor.
