April 19, 2018
On April 19, Philips issued an announcement detailing integration of Sun Nuclear's PlanIQTM into its' Pinnacle3 16.2 Auto-Planning radiation treatment planning solution. With this integration, clinicians can take advantage of continuous benchmarking and quality improvement tools.
Per their press release, "Focused on enhancing precision therapy delivery, optimizing radiation dose management and reducing time to treatment, Philips’ dedicated radiation oncology solutions help deliver more accurate, comprehensive treatment plans. In addition, Philips is announcing a collaboration with Sun Nuclear to integrate its suite of PlanIQ™ software with Philips’ Pinnacle3 16.2 Auto-Planning to aid clinicians in establishing feasible treatment goals."
PlanIQ is a powerful technology designed to help define, analyze and document treatment plan quality. It is a standalone software system that supports any Treatment Planning System that can export DICOM files. It can be used pre-optimization, during optimization, and to evaluate overall plan quality after the treatment plan has been calculated. Reporting capabilities also support documentation of overall plan quality.
Pinnacle3 16.2 with Auto-Planning features advanced automated tools that reduce the total time required to create IMRT or VMAT plans. Pinnacle3 helps clinicians make effective decisions based on changes in the patient anatomy and dose exposure.
Used together, PlanIQ auto-populates Pinnacle3 with feasible, patient-specific Organs-at-Risk goals. Clinicians are then able to create reports, templates and other documentation that can be easily exported to MOSAIQ® or ARIA®.
