A Framework for Quality Radiation Oncology and Care

Why should I consider coming to the Training Center?

At the Sun Nuclear Training Center, you will find a diverse offering of Product Training and Continuing Education (CE) classes that equip Radiation Oncology clinicians with knowledge and confidence in relevant technology and treatment techniques used to assure the very best in patient outcomes.

What is the difference between product training and CE courses?

Product training is a focused 1- or 2-day course led by a Sun Nuclear Product Trainer. It teaches basic to advanced concepts reinforced with hands-on exercises using the product. The outcome is a smoother more efficient clinical implementation.

A CE course is led by a clinical medical physicist. It is focused on the practical application of a particular technology or concept. The real benefit is having a peer deliver the educational material in a smaller class setting and including hands-on application of the presented material.

Where are courses held?

The courses are held at the Sun Nuclear Training Center in Melbourne, minutes from the beaches on the eastern coast of Florida. It is a 5000 square-foot facility with a modern classroom that seats 60, as well as a fully functional Linac. The facility is modeled after a clinic — the ideal environment to grow more familiar with the most sophisticated QA tools in the industry.

Are CE credits available for these courses? What type of credits are available?

For the continuing education courses, CAMPEP credits are typically provided. We are also investigating offering SAMs, MDCB, and ARRT credits.

Does attendance benefit clinicians at all levels of experience?

Absolutely! Our alumni range from doctoral students to clinicians with decades of experience who have awarded our courses top marks for valuable information and hands-on opportunities.
