Diagnostic QA SolutionsThe BioClinica Bona Fide Phantom (BFP1) is a quality control tool for Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) systems, featuring an acrylic-embedded calcium hydroxyapatite (CHA) step wedge. This design supports assessment of DEXA instrument stability and is compatible with all major DEXA platforms.
The BFP provides a clinically relevant bone mineral density (BMD) range of 0.7 to 1.5 g/cm2, enabling verification of system performance across a spectrum of densities rather than at a single “healthy” reference point. Linearity across this range is essential for comprehensive instrument evaluation. The phantom incorporates a CHA insert to allow direct assessment of bone density accuracy, meeting the requirements for cross-calibration phantoms used in clinical trials.
